  1. Reiek, Mizoram

It is a hilly area and one of the tourist places in the state. It is only 29 KM from Aizawl, Mizoram and it is surrounded by green trees and bushes. Nowadays, you can use your own vehicle to climb mountains easily. Back in 2006, most people climbed this hill on foot because the roads were not good enough for driving vehicles. Most importantly, on a clear day, you can see most of the plains of Bangladesh and the famous Kaptai dam from the top of the hill. The famous Anthurium Festivals used to be held in the Reiek tourist Centre. Near Reiek, there is an Ailing village where Khuangchera Puk (cave) is located, which is worth visiting and exploring. Khuangchera was one of the bravest and most famous freedom fighters in the British era.

  1. Phawngpui Tlang 

It is also called Blue Mountain and has the highest peak in Mizoram, which is 2157m. high. It is in Lawngtlai District, the southern region of Mizoram, and on the border between India and Myanmar. The best time to visit for tourists is November to April. The name Phawngpui came from the Lai dialect and Phawng means grassland and Pui means great. They called it Phawngpui because most of the area is covered by green grass. Near the mountain, there is a place called Farpak, which means Thinghmun, in Mizo. In 1992, it was called Phawngpui National Park.

  1. Hmuifang

One of the best tourist destinations in Mizoram and only 50 Km from Aizawl capital of Mizoram it is famous for the most popular festival in Mizoram Thalfavang Kut organized by the Tourism Department. In this festival they show some mizo dances like Cheraw which is called as bamboo dance, Sawlakia, Siktuithiang lam and Chheih Lam.

  1. Sialsuk Tlang

Sialsuk tlang is located in Aizawl District of Mizoram and it takes 1 hr and 19 min from Aizawl and driving distance is 66 km. The weather is more windy as compared to Aizawl. It is famous because the Tropic of Cancer passes through its territory. Moreover the place is beautiful and many new couples have gone there for wedding photos till now.

  1. Hangi Lunglen Tlang

It is located on the outskirts of Aizawl with the best city view and the name Hangi lunglen tlang comes from the local princess who spends most of her time in watching the views and from the mountain. You can see a clear view of Aizawl city, especially at night. It is beautiful with lights, and there is also a mountain for those who want to pray. Also, there is a city view resort, which can be booked for a birthday party and some other celebrations. And one very interesting for the main people and for the tourists is there is a restaurant named Aizawl Peak restaurant which is open till 10:00 pm and there used to be a band and during the opening hours you can listen to music and enjoy your meal.   1. K.V. Paradise

It is located at Durtlang near Aizawl. The full form of KV means Khawlhring Varte. Khawlhring is the surname of the husband and Varte is the wife’s surname. You all know that the Taj Mahal was built by Shah Jahan in loving memory of his wife Mumtaj so that he will never forget his lovely wife, the same as KV Paradise was built by K. Chhawnthuama in loving memory of his beautiful wife, Miss Sangpuii Varte. Inside the paradise, he put all her belongings, which he wants to display to others so outsiders can visit and see what is inside. 

  1. Solomon’s Temple

It is located at Chawlhhmun Aizawl, also called Kidron Valley. Their founder is Dr. Lalbiakmawia Sailo (L). It was constructed by the members of the church, not the outsiders. And they were named Kohhran Thianghlim (Holy church). We can also say that it is the biggest church in Mizoram. Every year during the Christmas season, the members of the church gather together and decorate their church in different styles for other people to visit. Also, they are very creative. They all together did the work. It looks very attractive, especially for tourists outside Mizoram.

  1. Golf Course

It is situated in Thenzawl, which is only 2 hr and 50 min from Aizawl. Serchhip district. Thenzawl is a beautiful place with green fields and peaceful surroundings. It is the first and only one funded by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, not only for golf players, the place is very attractive for enjoyment and if you want to stay for the night, there is a resort to stay at, and the cafeteria is near the cabin to order the food, etc besides this there are an open-air food court, watch tower, tourist reception center, clubhouse, convention hall, dormitories, pool table, wellness center, etc. And the best place to spend a honeymoon. In most places, you will not find a place where you can relax and enjoy yourself. So the best place to enjoy with a family is this kind of resort.

  1. Falkawn Zokhua

Falkawn is a small village south of Aizawl and only 38 minutes from Aizawl. It is typically a Mizo village lifestyle and Mizo culture. There is a zawlbuk (dormitory), Lal in (chief’s house), Pum (blacksmith), and many Mizo typical houses for the rich and the poor. You will find many Mizo traditions. There is a caretaker who takes care of Zokhua.

Aizawl is the capital of Mizoram, and its population is 4.05 lakhs at present, and fourth largest city in Northeast. Before it was named Aijal, its official languages were Mizo and English, and its literacy rate was 98.36%. It is a beautiful place that attracts many people. It is also a hilly area and a peaceful state among the northern states. There are many important offices, colleges, and universities, as well as the State Assembly House and the Civil Secretariat. There is a hospital and medical college called Zoram Medical College at Falkawn. There are many places tourists can visit. The staple food of mizo cuisine is rice, which is combined with cooked bai (mixed vegetable) and chilies, salt saum (fermented pork), and simple boiled vegetables. Mizo cuisine is totally different from others; mostly, Mizo people eat fewer spices than other people in the Northeast. One very important thing is nghah lou dawr (shop without a shopkeeper). You will not imagine a shop without a shopkeeper, but it happens in Mizoram. It shows that the farmers trust the people, and they leave their shop like this, keeping a box to keep the money. Here, they keep fresh vegetables, fruit juice, etc., from the farm. For information, they placed a signboard with the name and prices so customers could pay easily.
